If she thought about it logically, an ice-cream cone would have done the trick just fine. It was cool and refreshing, and just sweet enough to lift her spirits on a bright summer’s day. But today she wanted more. Her sights were trained on the large banana split that the store hoarding gleefully advertised – it comprised three scoops of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice-cream, two whole bananas and a generous amount of sprinkles. And that’s what she was hankering – a wholesome treat with cherries and sprinkles on top. Yes, it was over the top but, on certain days, she deserved it.
