When everyone else had shut their doors close, when everyone else had said goodbye to the day and entered the trance that took them to the next day - that was when the writer inside her woke up. She wrote life-changing stories each night. When physical shapes disappeared from eyesight because of the veil of darkness, she found how all of us were one. Her words drew a masterpiece each night on the canvas of the bold, black night.
This sultry black beauty is a pristine depiction of all things pretty put together.Don’t miss this made-in-heaven mul saree

When her toes quietly drew doodles on the floor while everyone around her chatted away, she had a smile on her face. She was glad she had a world of her own to sneak away when the world of humans got too crowded. She was shy, she was a rebel. She wore the glint in her eyes like a badge of honour. She showed the world that there were all shades of bold and each was just as gorgeous!
This white, pink and grey made in heaven mul saree is simply gorgeous!
The designs on this fabric come alive on our made-in-heaven mul sarees through an intricate process known as screen-printing. This process involves the usage of a mesh-screen made of synthetic polymers that is strung onto a metal or wooden frame at high tension. A stencil with the negative image of what is to be printed is placed beneath the screen and emulsion is applied to create a positive image that lets the dye seep through the screen. The dye is then applied on the fabric through the screen to print the desired image. Every design for screen-printing is made with a live-sized screen and each colour of printing requires a separate screen. So, the process of printing gets more and more intricate with addition of more colours in a design. It also makes the work of artisans more laborious as a result. The screens that are created for printing are stored with utmost care to keep them safe from damage or distortion. The lengthy procedure and the many steps involved become worth it when the beautiful final product is created. The base fabric for these sarees is the forever-favourite made-in-heaven mul.

That pop of pink amidst a grey pallet of concrete structures caught her eye and she found herself gravitating towards it. As she got closer and closer, her eyes lit up. Her fingers touched the Bougainvillea flowers that seemed to reach out to her with the wind prodding them on. In that instant, she went back in time. She went back to when it was just man and nature and nothing else.
This made in heaven mul saree in pink is a must-have!
The mul cotton is what we call ‘Made in Heaven’ at Suta. Known in West Bengal as mul mul, the fabric is what can be categorised as muslin cotton. It is believed that this fine method of weaving cotton can be traced back to even before the Indus valley civilisation. What makes this fabric special is the almost magical process of weaving it. Cotton fibres are separated and spun into strong threads. The lightest and the most delicate fibres are separated and are then spun into muslin thread. These are then woven into fabrics by skilled weavers. The history of muslin weaving is a beautiful chapter in the history of Indian textiles. The process of the yore was much more complex and involved many unique tools that look primitive but worked like magic. The upper jaw of a catfish was used to initially clean the cotton before spinning. To separate the lightest fibres, a Dhunkar (a bamboo bow) was used, which when strung in a distinctive way made the lighter fibres rise above the heavier ones. This process gave the title ‘woven air’ to the muslin fabric. Weavers famously wove on looms that were at ground level and operated the looms from pits dug in the ground. Even during the Mughal era, the muslin fabric was seen as a symbol of power for its finesse. History is full of anecdotes to prove the awe that the muslin fabric generated. Emperor Aurangzeb is said to have chided his daughter Zeb-un-Nisa for appearing naked in the court when in reality she had been wearing several layers of the muslin cloth! Such was the fabric’s delicateness. The almost invisible fabric had made an Arab traveller in the 10th century remark that the degree of fineness is such that a garment can be drawn through a ring of a middling size. During the British colonisation and even during the Mughal rule, the art of weaving muslin took a hit as weavers were treated poorly and drought hit many of the weaving centres. As a result, today, the process of weaving has seen a lot of change. Nevertheless, the essence of it hasn’t changed and the charm of the fabric still remains.

Change was her only constant in the ten years that she had spent in the aviation industry. The minute she touched land; she began to plan her next flight. It was hectic. But did she begrudge travelling all the time? NO.
Her love for travel had guided her most important life decisions. She was not just moving from one place to another, she was experiencing new things. New food, new cultures and new people. It constantly helped her evolve. The long journey outside helped her look within… in a way that she’d never tried earlier.
Look bold and beautiful in our classic black mul cotton saree with a thin beige and lavender border.

This is a handcrafted, handloom mulberry silk saree in gorgeous pink and red hues, with exquisite batik work.
Batik is a wax-based resist-dying technique that is said to have originated in Java, Indonesia. To make a batik, hot wax is applied to selected areas of the design to create blocks. The cloth is then dipped in dye. The parts of the design covered in wax resist the dye and retain their original colour. This process is repeated several times to create elaborate and vibrant designs. Batik is a very labour-intensive process. Since the wax is applied by hand by our artisans and the dying process does not occur in very controlled environments, there are always slight variations in the colour and design owing to the climate, temperature and other external factors. For this collection, Batik has been created on a canvas of handwoven mulberry silk, which is lightweight, easy to drape and lends an effortless elegance to the wearer. These sarees have been crafted by Suta's artisans in West Bengal.

Silk exudes a regality that very few other fabrics can match. The brilliant shine that vibrates from a silk saree spells class and traditional beauty. The process of producing silk involves multiple stages such as extracting silk threads from the cocoons of silk-worms, twisting multiple silk threads to make strong threads and weaving the threads into luscious sarees. The silk worms are made to feed mainly on Mulberry trees and other specific types of trees for high-quality silk. India is one of the top producers of silk in the world and the fabric is always in demand for its visual attractiveness. People associate silk with special occasions and richness. Silk is alluring and can boast of a grand appeal as well as a tinge of nostalgia. On the whole, silk is a fabric that can never go wrong. So, whether you are all set for a night of glamour or you want to turn on your traditional charm, silk can be just the thing you are looking for!

Fabric: Handloom Cotton
The handloom cotton is a type of fabric that is woven using hand operated looms. Two sets of interlacing yarns, the warp (length) and weft (width), are woven on a mechanised loom operated by weavers. These looms do not use electricity. Human handling lends the fabrics a unique feel and renders the fabrics more value. The resultant fabric is softer, more durable and much more comfortable than machine-made fabrics. Handlooom cotton is more breathable and thus feels lighter in summers and provides more insulation in winters. The dyeing process also becomes easier for handloom cotton as the colour penetration is substantially more. Hues are absorbed better thus look resplendent on handloom cotton. The art of hand weaving is labour intensive and takes a longer time. But, the beauty it adds to the fabric is priceless. Choosing handloom cotton supports the rich weaving heritage of India and lets the weavers carry on the precious art-form to the future generations as well..

It was the most exciting time of the year – Onam was just around the corner. She dutifully marked each day leading up to the festival on the calendar with a small tick. When the sun finally dawned on the day she’d been waiting so eagerly for, she hurriedly took a shower, wore her festive best and hurried to the town square, where she joined her peers for the ‘pookalam’ or flower rangoli competition. For a moment, she felt her mind go completely blank. A wave of panic washed over her – she’d been preparing for this the entire year and she could not afford to forget! But then, she took a few deep, calming breaths and let her mind drift to all the fantastical creatures she had met, in the many folktales her grandmother would read to her. In her mind’s eye, she saw a beautiful white elephant decorated with gold jewels and flowers. The elephant floated before her eyes before melting away into a mound of white grains of rice. She instantly knew that that would what she would bring to life – with the rice grains, flour, white blossoms, marigolds and asters. As she worked, the bare floor bloomed into a vision of perfection.
Be your most majestic self in this stunning white and gold saree made of cotton silk and embellished with zari.
Cotton silk is a blend of cotton and silk. Clothes made of this fabric are lightweight, soft, breathable, and have an elegant sheen. This hybrid fabric is especially popular as it can be worn with comfort and ease during both summers and winters. The subtle addition of zari elevates the overall aesthetic of these garments, making them extremely suitable to wear to special occasions.

No one believed her when she shared her plans of quitting her corporate job to follow her heart as a photographer. They laughed it off as a passing phase, convinced that better sense would prevail. They warned her that it was just a flight of fancy and that soon, she would fail. And, for a while, it seemed as though they were right. It was incredibly difficult to crack into the world of art and even harder for her to be taken seriously by clients and gallerists, with a scarce portfolio and no recommendations to back her. But she was nothing if not persistent and she persisted, determined to work as hard as she could, for as long as it took. Like the flame of the akhand jyoti, she would burn steadfastly until times changed. It took her four years, but she finally achieved her dream of showcasing her work at one of the city’s finest galleries. And she knew it was only the beginning of her life’s journey.
Let the eternal flame illuminate all your endeavours, when you wear this white and red mul modal saree.
Modal products are nature-based, made from fibres derived from wood pulp. This material is sustainable as the wood pulp used is responsibly sourced. Modal fabric has a very low environmental footprint - its production uses significantly lesser natural resources than other fibres. At Suta, we add another layer of innovation to modal by creating our own mul modal fabric. This fabric combines modal yarn and our signature made-in-heaven mul yarn to bring to you the best of both fabric types.

In a visual world ruled by candid shots, she had forgotten the actual meaning of the word. Did candid only mean looking away into the distance? Did it not mean shabby morning pictures, half-shut eyelids and awkward laughs? She knew how the word felt, though. It felt light and relieving. Like unlaboured endearments after a long day.
So, when she had to dress up for a canid shoot, she chose a colour that spoke to her heart. A mellow pink — a little like the insides of candy floss; a little like a thriving lotus.
Speak your mind, speak your heart in this lovely pink saree made of Kota cotton, featuring hand-embroidered Chikankari work.
Kota cotton fabric is renowned for its softness, light weight and ease of wear. It is made using an open weave with fine checks, which are called ‘khats’. This weave ensures that the resultant fabric is airy and comfortable. This Kota cotton fabric forms the base of these sarees, which are further embellished with Lucknowi chikankari work. Chikankari is a style of embroidery that has its roots in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The word 'chikan' is derived from the Persian word 'chikeen'. In its most traditional form, chikankari work reflects the influence of the intricate carving patterns found in Mughal architecture. The legacy of chikan work in Lucknow dates back to more than 200 years.
