How does 'Name a Star' actually work?
This unique service utilizes the 'Star Dedication Archive,' a comprehensive database of recognized stars in our solar system with their precise coordinates. Once a star is dedicated, it receives a special name and a certificate is generated for it. The registration number on the certificate provides exclusive access to the star's details in the archive, ensuring that no other star will bear the same name.

The star can only be booked for the current year, not for previous years. If you input the date of the occasion as 17/03/1987, the star will automatically be booked for the current year, regardless of the entered date.
If the sender's name is not provided, we will list it as "Star is named by Special Person" on the certificates.
