Story 

Although her name meant victory, she’d spent the past few months feeling anything but victorious. Quite to the contrary, she was at a stage of her life where nothing made sense. Nothing mattered anymore. For the first time in her life, she didn’t know what she wanted and that frustrated her. On her mother’s insistence, she decided to join an NGO that was working on educating women in remote parts of the country. As fate would have it, the village they were working in, at the time, was one that her ancestors had left behind, when they’d traded tradition for better prospects and a new way of life. At first, she’d assumed she wouldn’t be able to understand the simpler life. She worried about the lack of amenities and the comforts she often took for granted. But each person she met and each story she learned inspired her in so many ways. Yes, on the face of it, these women were nothing like her. They’d never seen the world through her eyes and had to work long and hard for seemingly simple things, such as educational facilities or gainful employment. It reminded her of the many hardships her own family had undertaken to give her the means to achieve her dreams. And, for that, she was grateful.
